A Mohican Adventure
It was Thursday but not just any ordinary Thursday. My best friend Sarah was coming down from her home in Dayton, Ohio. I couldn’t wait to get home from school and start our adventurous weekend riding horses. But little did we know what the weekend held for us the next morning when we would get up.
Sarah came down about 5 o’clock that Thursday evening. When she got there we un- loaded her stuff then we headed up to the barn to check on the horses. There they all stood out in the pasture enjoying their time they had left before we would soon be riding them up steep hills. Later that night we went to bed so we would be ready to get up early in the morning and leave for Mohican National Forest. My dad woke us up around 6 o’clock that morning told us to get dressed so we could go up and get the horses loaded in the trailer and leave.
We got ready to go then headed up to the barn loaded the horses and left the house around 7:30. Half way up to Mohican National Forest we meet up with our Christian trail group that we normally ride with and have a snack at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Then after we get the food we go back out to the trucks and trailers and head on down the road singing and have a great time. We get to Mohican around 4:30. We get the horses unloaded and set up camp, then we sit around the camp fire for a little bit laughing and joking with each other then head to bed getting some sleep for the big day ahead of us to come.
We all get up about 7 o’clock the next morning head over to the fire to eat breakfast. Then we go over and saddle up the horses and it starts raining. Sarah and I get something to cover our saddle’s so the wont get wet then we go ask the rest of the group what we are all going to do. Well we go out riding anyway there are about forty people going out riding. We get out on the trail and it stops raining for about a half an hour, then it cuts loose. It is pouring down you can’t see two feet in front of you. It...
