Describe the various theories of dreaming.
ALL please reflect on a time when you've come to understand the latent meaning of a dream (as distinct from its manifest content).
Carl Jung interprets dreams.
Medications like that affect the serotonin level by lowering it like Chantix
I have had many dreams, the most common one for me is I am driving down the road coming upon a stop light in traffic and I am unable to stop. I pull up on the emergency brake pump the brake and still am caroming toward traffic. I make it through without crashing into another car only too turn off the cars ignition and gliding to a stop. Analyzing this dream using a Carl Jungs theory it shows I lack control of my life but in the end I am safe when I don’t panic.
Dreams come from our subconscios whether we are in our pre-sleep or in our REM state. Many issues have been found to affect our dreams. Lack of sleep, hormones, neurotransmitters, high blood sugar, heavy meals or Medication like Chantix has been shown to affect the dreams of people who are taking it. The cause of the medications has been found to be reducing the serotonin levels (WebMD states serotonin helps to relay messages from one area of the brain to another) in the brain causing very dark dreams. These issues are also found in antidepressants (SSRIs), antipsychotics and hormone replacement medication if dosage given is too high can cause nightmares. Tranquilizers have been found to lead to aggressive dreams. Painkillers like fentanyl or oxycodone and morphine “named after Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams and sleep.”, have been shown to cause realistic and vivid dreams.
