The “old” America was the country of values and belief which keep people who lived in America together and united them in as one. That America was the most powerful country around the world, because people where determine to give their own life to protect they own freedom from anybody who wanted to invade it. The “old” American loved that country for the strong values of freedom, patriotism, family, and religion. However are those values that were so important to “old” Americans as much important, to Americans today.
In “old” American, the most important value to people who lived in America, and also one of the most know values of America today, is freedom. Freedom in America was and is the biggest most important value, after all people who lived here where fighting for freedom, to abolish British tyranny, and free they colonies ” In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”(Jefferson 294) this basically meant, that people who lived in America where tired of British tyranny, and they finally start to fight back with they Declaration of Independence, and they own lives because they believe that all the colonies in America should be free, and shouldn’t be control by British government. Because of this fight for American freedom, American's till this day have the choice and control over their own decisions, and destiny and with that they Government was established to guarantee individual's rights and happiness, and make them all equal “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” (Jefferson 294) However in my opinion in these times...
