The main thing that has remained the same in my life is the security of knowing I can count on my mom to take care of me and my needs and also, my love of theater, singing and performing. The major changes in my life were specifically moving from McHenry, IL to Cape Coral, FL then to Sarasota FL following my parents’ divorce and developing a new interest in high school soccer.
When I was younger I participated in all types of dance, including; ballet, jazz and lyrical.   However, it wasn’t until I joined a theater group that I discovered my love of theater, specifically musical theater where I could sing and perform. Moving to Florida was a big change, it meant leaving my school and friends behind and knowing I would have to temporarily give these up dance and theater.   It wasn’t long before my mom had signed me up at Robin Dawn Academy in Cape Coral for dance and the Cape Coral Cultural Park Community Theater for theater.   Adjusting to life in Florida was difficult to say the least, however; dance and theater has been constant. I’m fortunate to have had a great childhood where we took many family vacations. This enabled me to learn how to make friends and socialize easily. Additionally, when I was younger, my mom signed me up for soccer one summer and when I found out you had to play ‘rain or shine’ I didn’t want to do it. I was a girly girl!
My preteen years were tense! Moving again! From Cape Coral, FL to Sarasota, FL. This meant not only adjusting to another school and leaving my “new” Cape Coral friends, I also had to leave dance and theater again!   Leave it to my mom, within days she had me enrolled at Revelle Dance Academy in Sarasota and the Sarasota Youth Opera.   With my mom returning to work, it was difficult to remain in community theater and I relied on the youth opera to feed that theatrical need. Also, at Revelle, we performed ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and I felt happy and secure again. I had little interest at this point in soccer. I might get hurt!   I...
