INSPRE at KU

Louis Pasteur a great scientist of all times once remarked “Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. Perhaps treading such like vision Kashmir university organized an 5 day INSPRE camp for valley students to ignite in them that thirst for pursuing and research science .
"Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)" is an innovative programme sponsored and managed by the Department of Science & Technology for attraction of talent to Science. The basic objective of INSPIRE is to communicate to the youth of the country the excitements of creative pursuit of science, attract talent to the study of science at an early age and thus build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R&D base.
A striking feature of the programme is that it does not believe in conducting competitive exams for identification of talent at any level. It believes in and relies on the efficacy of the existing educational structure for identification of talent.
INSPIRE Science Internship Camp was organized by Centre of research for development (CORD) University of Kashmir in collaboration with department of Science & Technology (DST) began here today.
Inaugurating the camp on 24th febeuraury at the convocation complex of the university of Kashmir Mr Umar Abdullah Chief minister of the J&K appreciated the efforts of the university of Kashmir in organizing what he termed “camps of importance for our youth’. Strongly advocating that politics must be delinked from education and health at least , Chief Minister was highly critical of many decisions what he said are taken in haste keeping in view the political considerations only rather than the education in its broader context.
