Book of Luke Outline
It is the longest chapter of this book, and I see how so many great happenings God has shown throughout this chapter; the angel Gabriel promising a son for Zacharias and Mary who in fact grows up to be “John the Baptist”.
Zacharias, doubting the miracle to happen, is “silenced” by the angel Gabriel until the day it happens.
This chapter ends with the birth of John the Baptist
Luke 2:1; In those days Caesar Augustus issued a degree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
While in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus. She laid him in a manger because there was no room at the inn. Afterward, the angels came to the shepherds praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14
After hearing this, the shepherds hurried off and found the baby at the manger who was named Jesus as according to the angels.
This chapter seems to show the young life of John the Baptist as he begins to preach the word of God, mainly focusing on the subject of repentance.
He lived in the wilderness of Judea, baptizing people in the Jordan River for repentance and forgiveness of sins.
Even Jesus was baptized by John, and when he was, the holy spirit descended upon him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” (part of)Luke 3:22
Jesus went without food for forty days then he became hungry. The devil came and tempted him to turn the stones into bread, however Jesus responded to him saying, “Man should not live on bread alone” and as the devil tried to continue tempting him, Jesus said, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” so the devil left him.
He also cast out demons of many possessed people and the demons knew he is son of God.
