When Faith and Medicine Collide
There are profound resentments regarding religion and health care practices in different cultures and societies. When the question of one’s health collides with religious belief, a family will stand their ground and dispute medical practices. Religion and science are two conflicting dogmas. What scientists put faith in is much different from what different religious perspectives support. One instance where there has been a pledge of controversy between Christians and science view is the validation of fetal termination. Christians will quarrel that abortion is murder, regardless of the conditions or reasoning behind it. However; Scientists will make a case that there are a few health concerns that should make abortion forgivable, like an Ectopic Pregnancy. Countless black holes exist amidst science and Christianity.
There are no evident defenses dividing what’s just from what could be considered unethical in most instances. Deliberations still flourish on the subject of fetal termination. The moment when life has truly begun differs between the two; Christians are taught and strongly believe that life begins immediately upon conception, and that any activity that may hinder the event of fertilization is murder. Consequently, Christians will make every effort to resist and dispute any form of abortion. The rivalry which is present concerning science and religion in general strongly influence the treatment and recovery of an individual who is bound to their faith; in many instances the choices can be fatal.
