The Dukan Diet Plan
The diet put forth is based on a high protein diet, that targets minimal consumption of carbohydrates and proteins. Dr. Pierre Dukan has more than 30 years of experience in healthy weight loss and eating patterns. The weight loss diet consists of eating low-fat, low-carb, and high protein foods such as starchy vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, fish, seafood, eggs, fat-free dairy products, veal, and lean meats. The diet doesn't restrict you in eating on few types of foods, but in turn has a policy of "all you can eat" philosophy. Originally the diet was constructed for obese people wanting to lose weight desperately. The diet comes with a challenge that people who are overweight can actually resist the temptations of eating unhealthy, fattening foods. Dukan diet helps in losing weight, boosting self-confidence, and motivation. Which is why, the diet has been divided into 4 different phases and each phase has its own specificity. The first two phases are strictly implemented to lose chunks of pounds and the last two deal with maintaining a healthy body mass to avoid health problems.
Phase I: The Attack Phase
The duration of phase I is dependent on the number of pounds you want to lose. The maximum pounds permitted is 8-10 in the first phase. This can be achieved in 5 days. Rigorously following a protein rich diet shall show effective results. You are strictly not allowed to consume foods rich in fats and carbohydrates during the first phase. You can consume plenty of calorie free fresh juices. Consume of at least 10 glasses of water daily to keep yourself full.
Foods Allowed: Chicken, fish, egg white, low fat yogurt, skimmed milk, lean meat, fat free cheese and turkey.
Phase II: The Cruise Phase
