Reflection of the Life and Times of Jesus and the Easter Story

On Sunday Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a colt followed by his disciples. Crowds of people covered the streets ahead of him throwing their cloaks and palm branches on the path.
This became known as Palm Sunday
The next day Jesus made his way to the temple and chased all the money-changers out.
On the Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus preached and taught in Jerusalem.
On Thursday evening Jesus washed the feet of all of his disciples. Then celebrated the Feast of Passover and commenced the sacrament of Holy Communion.
This became known as the last supper.
That night Jesus and his disciples went to Gethsemane to pray, where he was then, arrested by the Temple guard and taken to an illegal night session of the Jewish court, the Sanhedrin.
The next morning Jesus was taken into Roman courts, before Pontius Pilate and Herod Antipas, who sent him back to the Jewish court. Roman soldiers took him to Golgotha, the place of the skull, where he was crucified.
Jesus rested in the tomb on Saturday, while his disciples observed the Sabbath.
Jesus rose from the dead on the Sunday. Mary Magdalene heard this from an angel and was one of the first to see Jesus.
How did the events that took place in Holy Week Impact on people who lived at that time including those closest to Jesus?
It is hard to say how the events of Holy Week impact people who lived in the time of Jesus as we weren’t there and there are not many resources or accounts of those days except for the Bible.
