The day was very grey and dull, and so were the people of planet earth. The green grass people used to talk about had over time developed into concrete slabs. All I could see whilst starring down the street was the same exact house repeated over and over for as far as my eyes could see, but still no grass. The only thing I could possibly spot to walk on was the boring strips of concrete. The world I lived in was very harsh and unforgiving, not just to me but to the others who also had defects from when being genetically enhanced. I finally sat down knowing that the padding of the skin tight lycra uniform would never be as good as the moist green grass this planet used to have.

After lying in the same position in the graveyard like street on the concrete I began to contemplate like I always would and realized how my life was a misery. The people who I was often surrounded by also realized that there lives were hardships and they also didn't come out the way their parents had planned, an upper class citizen. This is why I, William, was sent to an orphanage. For as long as I can remember I have cringed at the fact that I am an orphan. I was treated like an animal, maybe I was better off in this orphanage? Knowing that my parents shared no love towards me lead my life to a complete hardship. I was alone in this world and if not alone was confronted by someone with defects, In this world 100 percent only got you half way to your goal. Since that horrid day my parents abandoned me purely because of my physical appearance and intellectual   ability, I have known that I will never be anything other than my invalid self.

The concrete I now sat on was getting harder to bare each hour I sat contemplating. Whilst the breeze of the earth gently brushed along my face I could not help remind myself of how I got to the orphanage and how my parents would always tell me I wasn't what the doctors had promised.
