Round Midnight by Thelonius Monk was the first performance I watched. Truthfully it did not interest me at all and I was bored out of my mind.   He played the piano very well and I can tell he is an amazing musician.Even though at first when he played the piano it sounded horrible but when he came back again to play he played beautifully. But it is not something I would ever listen to for my   entertainment. It sounds like something my grandparent’s would really enjoy listening to so this is something I can show them when bonding together. But then again while watching another one of his performances I realized that Monk is actually a very enthusiastic compared to other composers in the genre.
Monk is a very well-known African American musician all over the world. He seems to be very classy and old fashion. But a bit strange, in most videos of him he is doing the same dance going around in a circle. Which was later discovered to be a mental disorder called schizophrenia. Not only that be he was also diagnosed with a case of depression. He was prescribed very intense medication like lithium which is believed that it did not do much to him but I personally believe it is what keep degrading his mental health.
Anyways after the sixties Thelonius Monk stopped playing music because Jazz evolved into the total opposite of what Monk’s offered. The fame was no longer on Monks but instead on Miles.

The next artist I obviously looked up was Miles Davis who was an amazing artist. He seems to have such a laid back personality in this video which is off the Bitches Brew album. This album was actually   Miles’ first gold record and sold more than five hundred thousand copies. Bitches Brew also won a Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album in 1971.
