FIGHTING FOR MY DESTINY!
Hi My Name is Temperia Vinyette Jackson. I’m 29 years old. I was born in East Chicago, Indiana. As a young girl I always thought of myself as a spiritual and special person. I discovered that I could sing at the age of 11 years old. People were amazed at the power in my voice. I remember my mother taking us to nursery school and church every Sunday. I was too young to recognize my gift then, or maybe I didn’t recognize who I was at all.
It’s very hard living in this small town of East Chicago, Indiana. I have realized that, letting God in my life is the key to winning in every circumstance. We are worth more than designer clothes, flashy rims, and other material goods. There are people starving, homelessness, and in need of medical attention in Africa and Haiti. I believe that we should use our resources for helping others in need.
There was a time that I was in need the most. My father wasn’t in my life. This had a great affect on me, for instance I became stubborn and very rebellious. Eleven was the age of maturity for me. My ways of handling the absence of my father caused me to lean to my own understanding which resulted in the detour of my destiny. I knew my calling and I began FIGHTING FOR MY DESTINY! My mother, who is a strong black woman, worked hard to give us what we needed, and prepared us for the world. Instead, (as many teenagers) I got lost in my own image and the Devil thought that he won over my soul. About a year ago, I invited God back into my life. I didn’t realize that I let him go; I strayed away from God’s image of myself.
I couldn’t solve my problems on my own, I knew I needed help. Here is my testimony: The spirit of God began to speak to me, and I knew that it was time to change my life. I was invited to a church service by a friend, and the power of God was revealed to me that day. The Pastor of the church laid her anointed hands on me and my life changed.
I no longer smoke tobacco and I love myself again....
