French Revolution was initially triggered by the frustration of the working class and farmers. They used to be taxed heavily for foreign wars internal affairs and for paying national debts. The small land owners and the peasant class were bound to extremely unfair contracts with the feudal lords despite of king consolidating absolute monarchy. This tension and frustration of the working class was also because of the oppressive rule of the monarchist regime. Although the regime had been very successful in defending France from foreign invaders and sorting out internal religious and other disputes it was believed to have been extremely unfair to the general public. The cost of affording a respectable or even a sustained lifestyle had shot sky high with the rise in bread prices and basic necessities while on the other hand ruler were having lavishing dinners in their castles. Moreover people were blindfolded with religious priests who used to manipulate religion for their own cause. It is actually those people who practiced injustice under the banner of religion and persecuted the people that gave birth to the atheistic spirit of the revolution and the deeds of the so called men of God can be seen as one of the major causes that ultimately led to the revolt.   
Nowadays Pakistan is also facing same problems. The feudalism which comprises only 5% of the population is ultimately influencing the lives of the total population. They are mostly illiterate but with the shine of nickels they are able to root themselves even in high bureaucratic positions. This is the reason that our government is unable to take right decisions when it comes to deal with socio and economic problems. And since feudalism is all about authority and power so there is also no accountability and justice in the political scenario.
