After taking the Career Plan Building Activity and getting the results to the test, I must say, I was not surprised. Learning the results to the test was an eye opener because there are a lot of people that have jobs that they hate to go to because of the people that they work with and I have always said, I want the type of job where I can’t wait to go to instead of the one that I can’t wait to leave. The results of my Career Plan Building Activity stated that I am the type of employee that will put emphasis on the act of fairness, social and being environmental responsibility. I am very active in the area of the promotion of equal rights and the justice for all and also, I would like to have a chance to contribute positively to society and make a difference in people’s lives.
My ideal team at the job would be one to be able to work with compassionate people that understand that things happen outside of the work place sometimes that we do not have control over, especially when you have kids. My results also states that I like to work in a safe environment, somewhere that is comfortably and where I can do my best work with the best technology possible. Having an enjoyable work place and having a good team makes your day so much easier.
The resources I found helpful in My Career Plan was the tip on having a polished resume.
My Career Plan states that it is not necessary for you to have an objective at the top of your resume because they are either too generic or too specific. The information that you wish to put in your objective should be only in your cover letter or in the correspondence email.
Also, in formatting a resume, never include your pay history, social security number, the reasoning why you resigned from a job and your references. All of these examples are things that will make a potential employer overlook you for a position in their company.
