In discussing relationships between parents and adolescents, a generation gap is frequently mentioned. Although it has probably been overemphasized, a serious gap does indeed exist in families between parents and adolescents. This gap is found in many families, and has existed to some degree for generation.
Plato and St. Augustine severely criticized the unconventional and undesirable behavior of youth during their respective periods in history.
Generation gap is one of the major reasons nowadays why parent and children are moving away from each other. As we all know, the environment has changed, so does the lifestyle and with that changes the mind of children.
Today's youth does not like other people to be interfering with their personal matters. They do not like it when their parents are ordering them. If parents try to tell their children what is wrong for them, they misbehave, and sometimes rebel against their parents. When parents and their adolescents are unable to make themselves agree with their each other, they come to a point where they become disappointed. As a result of this situation, children try to avoid talking to their parents, and parents quench that their kids do not listen to them.
A lot of people think that generation gap is just a natural problem. They do not realize that it is not just a little problem that can be solved in a minute. This situation does not make only these two sides but it also affects the surroundings as well. Generation gap is basically created by the people themselves. Each member of the society and each member of a family is one of the people who create this gap. The problem of generation gap is getting a value as a very serious issue for both the children and parents.
The problems with parents are that they are being really busy with their jobs but lack time and effort for their children. They just realize it when there is already a huge gap between them.
Parents of today's generation used to live a simple life....
