Global warming also referred to as greenhouse effect. “Greenhouse effect the global warming of our atmosphere caused by the presence of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, which trap the sun's radiation” (Turk & Bensel, 2011). We continually hear through the media, the effects in which global warming has on our planet. However, the impact the human race has on this global problem remains to be seen, as well as what actions we can take to minimize or correct the effects.
There are many contributing factors to the increasing problem of global warming and if we do not get these factors under control, the problem with continue to worsen. ”Global warming can have many different causes, but it is most commonly associated with human interference, specifically the release of excessive amounts of greenhouse gases” (Kim, Granger, Puckett, Hasar, & Francel, 2010). Greenhouse gases and consist of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), vapor from water sources, and gases known as fluorinated gases. Fluorinated gases are man-made gases that were created for industrial and personal purposes.
When the heat from the sun enters the Earth’s atmosphere and causes it to heat up, global warming occurs. This results in the Earth experiencing unnatural temperatures due to the heat not being released back into space. Most often greenhouse gases are caused by human interventions, and in many cases these interventions are excessive. However, greenhouse gases also occur naturally. Unlike man-made fluorinated gases, the naturally occurring gases are good because they naturally occurring without human interference. Nevertheless, they still have their effects on the climate and global warming. The debate will continue as to whom or what is directly responsible for global warming.
There are many natural occurrences which have a major impact on the increase in global warming. A few of these natural occurrences are volcanic eruptions, solar cycles and...
