Below is an essay on "Grand Canyon" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

The picture is Grand Canyon ,a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona in the United States. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,093 feet or 1,857 meters). It is a natural environment to me as the formation of it is not affected by human beings. In my opinion, the natural environment is the set of living and non-living things on Earth which occur in a state substantially not influenced by human
Now I am glad to talk about the cause of the formation of it and the principal attributes that compose this system.
Cause
Water: (the most important one)The general scientific consensus, updated at a 2010 conference, holds that the Colorado River carved the Grand Canyon beginning 5 million to 6 million years ago. After erosion by liquid water the next most powerful force is probably its solid form, ice. In the colder months, especially on the north rim, water seeps into cracks between the rocks. These cracks can be caused by seismic activity, or by the constant soaking and drying of the rocks. When the water freezes it expands and pushes the rocks apart and widens the cracks.
Plates conflict: The conflict between the plates is also frequently responsible for mountain building activity. As the plates are forced together they sometimes buckle which causes mountain ranges to be formed along the contact point.
