The 16 Habits of Mind are the ways in which humans display their intelligent. Through all the characteristics of each of the habit, I think that I have to learn more about it when confronted with problems because they are useful for me. In that list, I see some of my own habits such as Persisting, Listening to others, Thinking about our Thinking, Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision, Questioning and Posing Problems, and Learning Continuously. For example, I always persisting with what I’m doing and I never ever give up anything until it’s completed. I just been in USA for 4 years, and I started to learn English when fist time I came here. I take a little bit of time to think about why I’m doing what I’m doing. It’s really hard for me to ketch up with other students who has been raised and born here, but I never give up. I try to do and learn anything from school, online, students, and teachers. If I fail, I try again, and again and again until I get it. And it’s really helpful for me when confront with any hard problems. On the list of 16 Habit of Mind, I’m kind of confused about Taking Responsible Risks, because I did not see it in many of people in here that have responsible for what they doing, even though they know they did things wrong. It happens everywhere and everyday in our life. Do people fear of failure or they fear that other people will look them stupid? I wonder about this habit and maybe I do not know or maybe I might not understand people enough. People used to say that even though the best one can fall down sometime, so why not be “brave enough to risk failure” (Briggs, 1999 p 2A) ?
