The purpose for choosing this topic because there have been many deaths of individuals and the major reason for the major injury was because they were not wearing a helmet. Everyone is affected by this and that is why a law is needed to protect the drivers and well as the bystanders. Many motorcycle drivers have been killed because of not wearing helmets and studies have shown that had they been wearing helmets they may not have been injured as badly. In some cases many drivers have not been injured at all because they were wearing helmets. It has also been noted by varies studies they when passengers have on helmets they are not hurt in most cases and are almost never killed. In the state of Florida motorcycle drivers under the age of 21 are required to wear helmets but drivers over 21 are not. However, if you are over 21 you will be required to have medical insu The State of Florida is of interest because it accounts for 9% of all motorcycle rider deaths in the United States. Coinciding with the helmet law change, the number of Florida's motorcycle registrations increased substantially. The number of motorcycle deaths in the statewas high enough to permit a monthly time series analysis. The Florida motorcycle helmet law change has not been evaluated statewide.(Muller,Andreas;2004).
