A Bad Decision
Bad decisions are common things people make and are also a part of human nature. They lead to inevitable consequences which no one appreciates. Although wrong decisions are mournful and most people regret doing them, they carve a mark on people’s minds so that people can prevent repeating the same mistake in their future. I once made a really bad decision that almost led to a catastrophe and downfall of my life. Let me ask you this, “Have you ever been choked or suffocated by a car window?” Well, this incident almost happened to me, and it left a thick, rough scar on my mind that haunted me for nearly two years.
This shocking and blood-chilling incident occurred when I was eleven years old. It was also the day when my dad was promoted by his boss. I remember that he wasn’t dragging his feet on the floor that day, but instead, he was in a blissful mood. I thought, “That’s the dad I don’t see every day!” When dinner time came, my dad announced that he just bought a new car, and it will be ready in two weeks’ time. My mom was the only one who reacted spontaneously. The reason why was because during the old days, when I was little, my dad used to own a really old and possible antique car. Some parts of its body got scraped off and even started to rust. Also, there’s a weird, fishy aroma in the car that most passengers that went in couldn’t stand it. Honestly, my dad tried washing the car, sprayed perfume in it, and all sorts of solution, just to get rid of the repulsive smell. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work. It’s as if the bizarre and nose-piercing smell was part of the car. This splendid news was very gratifying to my family, especially my mom. It was really obvious because once the jolly news entered her ears, she rushed straight into the kitchen, and started cooking dad’s favorite meal to celebrate. Well, I can’t blame her since she was stuck with that awful smell for approximately five years!
