How the computers are used in art
Art and Design have been improved its techniques through the last ten years with new technology as Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, PageMaker, or Autodesk programs such as Maya and 3DS Max.
Here is the quick explanation of few of the most important programs in Art and Design:
For many people the most important program in design, Photoshop, specific editing software made by two brothers and developed by Adobe in Michigan (United States). As the name of the programs says it’s a shop (program) where allow you manipulate your own pictures as cut, crop, resize and many things.
With the most powerful resolution we’ve got, Illustrator, program that let you create graphics and type in vector format. These vector graphics keep its high resolution either in a small or big size.
For example in this program you can design logos, wireframes, print layouts, interfaces etc.
Famous movies as Transformers, Shrek and Avatar have made with Maya, fantastic 3D program that allows you create and animate figures either way animating movies, video games, TV series or visual effects.
A little bit more about Photoshop
In 1987 Thomas knoll started to create a masterpiece called Photoshop writing a program to display a grayscale images. After his brother John helped him to develop Photoshop with a computer called Macintosh II, the colour computer.
Photoshop is a professional image editing program and extremely fun application to use.
Photoshop interface is divided in tree panels, the first one is above where we can manage the entire program, on the right are more tools which are to the most important to retouch the image and finally on the left are two panel in vertical which are the colour panel and the layer panel.
