The US census bureau estimates that the population will rise from 294 million to an outstanding 420 million by the year 2050 if current trends in population continue.
Our quality of life as U.S. citizen is depreciating as the population increases. Immigration is the leading cause of such high rates of population increase. Immigration is not only causing over-population in our country but it is also affecting our quality of life in the United States.
Step 3. Outline/ Preview of case
An estimated gain of 106 million people in merely 45 years is expected. Currently there are an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States today. That number is merely an estimate recorded by the Census bureau. The actual number could be twice that.
Although illegal immigrants contribute to a large percentage of this problem, the main concern with immigration is not regarding illegal versus legal. The problem is because of how fast growing the population is due to immigration in the U.S. How is it possible for a high quality of life in the united states when the population increases to an unmanageable 420 million?
4.Reasons and evidence
Immigrants are found to accept cheap labor rates that take jobs away from those who are far more experienced. Taxpayers ultimately make up for this in infrastructural costs.
Texas’s illegal immigrant population is costing the state’s taxpayers more than $4.7 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. Even if the estimated tax contributions of immigrant workers are subtracted, net outlays still amount to more than $3.7 billion per year.
1 out of 4 uninsured people in the United States is an immigrant. 3.5 million immigrants are being allocated insurance through Medicare, which is paid through taxpayer’s money.
