Two of the fastest growing economies in the world today are China and India. Many organizations are taking their operations global and these two countries provide plenty of attractive opportunities to both increase business prospects and enhance current operations. However, as attractive as moving into a foreign country may be, there are many potential pitfalls that must be carefully considered by management before taking the plunge. Of critical importance is the country’s culture and its impact on daily life, expectations and behaviors. This is particularly important in terms of business customs and norms, and an understanding and appreciation of these considerations can make or break a company’s attempt to globalize.
