Informational Interview Report
For my assignment I have chosen the career of a General Operations Distribution Analyst. I was only first introduced to supply-chain management this semester during my I-core sections. I am currently employed with Menards and have been with the company for 5 years. I have gained a lot of knowledge of most of the aspects of supply-chain. We have many distribution centers that we have to distribute the products we carry to certain Menards within a certain amount of miles. During my P301 class, I developed more knowledge on supply-chain and fell in love with it. I signed up to be involved in the OSCM club. This is a supply-chain club on IUPUI and throughout the spring semester we took plant tours to a variety of distribution centers. The one company that interested me the most and made me focus on the position I am talking about now is Fastenal. This position also shows my values, such as integrity and leadership. An organization that has this position, and matches my skills, values and interests is Fastenal. To give a brief overview of what Fastenal strives to do and commit to:
