Introduction
A. Animal Agriculture makes a 40 percent greater contribution to global warming than all transportation in the world combined.
B. Environmental effects are a big issue that are becoming increasingly popular as the years progress. With these concerns, more research has recently been conducted to look at the effects that factory farming may have on the environment.
C. Factory farming is one of the biggest factors when considering effects on the environment and what kinds of threats they may pose.
D. Because factory farming is a fairly recent development that has only become more popular as time has gone by, and continues to grow, the effects that it may have on us in the future are becoming concerns.
E. In order to asses these concerns, we can look at what the effects this practice has on the environment, and in turn, what those environmental effects will have on us as a human population.

However, we cannot begin to discuss the effects that factory farming will have on the environment and general population without first addressing what it is.

When presenting this topic at first, many people probably had the question, what exactly is factory farming?
A. In order to establish an idea of what the topic is about, first factory farming will be defined.
B. The definition of factory farming, for our purposes, is a system of farming in which a lot of animals are kept in a small enclosed area in order to produce a large amount of eggs, milk, and meat as cheaply as possible.
    1. Less than one percent of these animal products today come from family farms.
C. Factory farming typically refers to cows, pigs, and chickens.
            D. So, in review, factory farming allows us to produce large amounts of animal products coming primarily from cows, pigs, and chickens cheaply.

Factory farming, being the big industry that it is, must have some effects on the environment that need to be addressed.
