News Reporters must have the right mix of on-air warmth, sincerity, and professionalism. They usually work against daily deadlines to investigate, research, and create compelling stories. They prepare stories that must be present important and accurate information in a limited time. The amount of time is limited to 2 Minutes, and in that time your information should be present accurate material. Reporters have to set up as many interviews as they can over the phone and then set off to cover the story. It’s a lot of work in little time, imagine yourself in that situation. When reporters return to the situation, he/she works closely to with the video editor to take out any minor mistakes or tongue ties.
Reporters work for television and radio stations and also news agencies. They work in different places such as News rooms, editing suites, sound booths, and lastly local and sometimes international travel. They decide if they want to work with construction workers, police officers, firemen, and etc. Many have to cover dangerous or disturbing stories such as war, natural disasters, and gruesome trails. Reporters also suffer mental stress from pressure of events such as those.   Full time reporters work 8 to 10 hour days and 40 to 50 hours a week. However important news stories require longer irregular hours.
Reporter’s earnings depend on size of the market they work in. for example reporters who broadcast nationally or large cities work in small towns or rural areas. Yearly salaries and radio reporters range from round $20,000 in small stations and $75,000 in larger ones. Many people start off working for nothing as interns. Salaries for newscasters and anchors range from about $30,000 to $146,000 a year, depending on market size. The median annual salary is around $54,000.
