A wonderful wedding is a dream to many people, especially to those young girls; two promises and one kiss can change the couple's life in an instant. However, to many same-sex couples, this is really a dream that may not come true in their lives. In many other countries, same-sex marriage is recognized by their government, but it is something still unrecognized by the United States government. Same-sex marriages should and deserves to be legalized in the United States, for many reasons: increase of child adoption, freedom of choosing the mate, and equal rights of human, and they should have the same rights as heterosexual couples do.
First, the United State government should legalize same-sex marriages because it can increase the child adoption rate. According to the report released by National Coalition the Homeless, there are an estimated 1,682,900 homeless youth in America, and the   government spends over million of dollars every year to support them. If same-sex couples can adopt these homeless children, then the government can save the money and has a better use on them. However,   same-sex adoption and custody are not legal in most of the states that homosexual parents are at a disadvantage for the right of child adoption and custody. In the article" Gay Rights," Richard L. Worsnop states that, " Many courts use the reason of ' best interests of the child' as the standard to reject their adoption." Many of same-sex couples are denied by the unreasonable consideration to the child. Not only does the court think homosexual families are bad as   parents, both the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) and the Family Research Council (FRC) have a strong belief that homosexual couples cannot form a good family. The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) implies that their belief toward marriage is between a husband and a wife, and they do not want the government or judges to change the definition of " marriage."
