1.0 Introduction and Summarization of The Article

Katzenbach and Smith composed an article called ‘The discipline of teams’ in 1993 to show how individuals, regardless of what contrasts or foundations, could capacitate as a team and not generally as a gathering of individuals. In order to achieve successful group execution of tasks, they must be focused on the groups’ goals and they must have the capacity to trust every individual inside of the group to be in charge of his or her appointed assignments.

The authors regard the word "team" as being abused and undermined. The vast majority thinks about a "team" as a gathering of cooperating individuals. This article clarifies that a team is considerably more than that. The authors define a team as ‘a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, set of performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable’ (Katzenbach, 1993).
