Foundation of Mental Health Counseling
Mental Health Services are design to create opportunities for individuals with mental illness, allowing them the chance to make the most of their ability in obtaining and seeking mental health treatment; the Life Enhancement Center is just that place. The Life Enhancement Center (LEC) created, and operated by Dr. Jason King, PhD – Clinical Director and Dr. Russell Gaede, PsyD – Executive Director along with fifteen other counselors help individuals to obtain mental health and conquer their addictions. LEC offers an individual treatment plan as well as a dual diagnosis program that focuses on the emotions, deportment, and mental disorders; with a heavy focus on the disease of addiction. Gaede (2013) states, LEC started in 2006 by Dr. Jason King and himself (Dr. Russell Gaede). The foundation of the agency is a result of their design and newly research evidence.
According to Gaede (2013), the LEC has incorporated into their system psychology techniques that are advance; they include “neurocounseling, dialectical behavior therapy, equine (horse assisted) therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive-behavior therapy.” Gaede further mentions that LEC offer individual, group, couple, and family counseling to encourage a healthy atmosphere of mental health and to provide the tools that are necessary in recovering from addiction as a result of chemical or behavioral. Gaede (2013) describes LEC as a “training, counseling, and research clinic” with locations in Heber and Park City, Eagle Mountain, Pleasant Grove, Provo, Payson, Nephi, Manti, and Delta. It is here that LEC practice positive psychology honing in on positive emotions, positive individual traits, and positive institutions as well as incorporating the theory of Bronfen Bienner and some of their own methodology.
