January 27, 1756 Wolfgang Amadeaus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria. At age four, young Mozart became a prodigy at playing the piano and started composing his own music at age 5. Rumors say that he could write notes before he could even write words. He became very famous an even played in front of the Empress Maria Theressa of Austria in 1762 an over the next twelve years he soon became very popular in his music and played at many royal courts. Despite his professional life, Mozart had a lovely wife named Constanze Weber whom they both had 6 children together, though four passed away during child infancy. From 1783-91, Mozart was one of the more famous Classical artists in Vienna. One thing that he was most famous for was his ability to write songs. Mozart alone had a talent for composing music and wrote some of his more famous songs within the time period of a day. Some of the songs that Mozart is most famous for are Piano Sonata in C, K 545, Rondo alla turca, Piano Concerto No. 21, and The Marriage of Figaro Overture. In Mozart’s lifetime, he wrote over 600 works: 50 Symphonies, 25 piano concertos, 12 violin concertos, 27 concert arias, 26 string quartets, 103 minuets, 15 masses, and 25 opera works. Mozart was by far one of the greatest and legendary classical composers of all time. He was a true musical genius and he will forever go down in history.
