My Orphan Life

I was 4 years old when this happened. My mother had died giving birth to me, and my dad died by a heart attack a couple of years after her death. It was hard growing up with nobody beside me. Nobody to read me a bedtime story or kiss me good night.
I lived in a little alley called "Night Alley." Nobody except me actually lived there. That's why I was always alone. I used to go out to the city at night and watch families and their children walking together, eating in restaurants and I even sometimes watch through the windows to see how happy and lucky they are.
Some nights I used to cry myself to sleep, blaming myself on my parents' deaths. I used to sit on the sidewalks and beg for money. After I would be done, some guys would beat me up and take my money and run. Everytime I thought that I might find me some parents, it never works out for me. Some people had the thought that I must be a theif or I was taught for something bad. I don't know why. Have I done something wrong to deserve this?
One day as I was in the city I watched this wonderful family playing at the park. I wondered if they would mind if I asked to play with them. Then the mother noticed me in the corner and asked me to come. "Where's your mother little one?" she asked. I hesitated to answer, "Oh, umm, uhh." "Yeah hun, where's your mommy." "Ma'am, I don't have a mommy." I sighed. She gasped and suddenly I felt something I'd never felt in a long time,"Love."
She threw her arms around me and gave me a huge hug. She was sobbing on my shoulder as if I was her own son. I couldn't stand but to cry too. It was a moment I would never forget. After we finished crying she said," Why don't you play with my boys?" I finished wiping my tears and said," Thank you ma'am, but I really need to get going." "Where to?" she asked.
