*     over the past several decades, conceptual model builders and other theoretical developers have focused an inordinate expenditure of energy on generating conceptually distinct but coherent ‘theories’ whose essential purpose is to define nursing and to articulate a normative standard for its practice. the initial work of these theorists was aimed at clarifying the inherently complex intellectual and interactional domains that distinguish expert nursing from the mere doing of tasks. Such a project arose from the conviction that, if individuals and groups within nursing could confidently know and articulate their central definitional qualities, then nurses, individually and collectively, could function as more independent and autonomous advocates for the health of populations. In this paper presents examination of one nurse theorist’s view and a critique of the Bachelor of Nursing Statement of Philosophy and Conceptual Framework four essential concepts common in nursing theory that influence and determine nursing practice are person, health, environment and Nursing.
