This paper will discuss the issues of obesity in children and adolescents in the U.S. and what we should do as doctors, nurses, or medical assistants to control this issue among so many. This report will talk about how the issue should be discussed among families, schools, physicians, and many others that can help control the issue and get help for so many that are in bad health due to this issue. |
A. What is obesity?
B. What are the causes of obesity?
Thesis: Obesity in children and adolescents, which is caused by so many different things, is a topic that needs great consideration due to so many health issues. This issue is caused by so many things but some of the main things can be some of the medications they are prescribed, different types of family issues that may cause depression, and some of the foods they eat.
A. Steroids – What do the steroids treat? What are the side effects for the steroids?
B. Psychiatric medications – Are the medications prescribed to treat mental disorders causing any harm to our bodies?
C. Do these medications cause the weight gain?
D. High blood pressure and diabetes medications can cause the weight gain as well.
III. Family Issues
A. What are some of the different issues that can cause obesity?
B. Abuse can cause low self-esteem and this can cause weight gain.
C. There are so many children that have either single parents or both parents in the home, but the parents are not involved with the children.
