Pablo Escobar was born on December 1, 1949. He grew up in the Medellin suburb of Envigado. Growing up he was known to be very ambitious. He started with stealing cars and the later with drugs, later on becoming one of the biggest drug dealers of all time. Escobar was a Colombian drug dealer and ran a pretty successful business for the most part that is until he got caught. He made billions of dollars off of his business, and governed over a personal realm of mansions, airplanes, and a private zoo and his own army of soldiers and tough offenders. “Before long, he controlled all crime in Medellin and was responsible for as much as 80% of the cocaine transported into the United States.” If someone got in his way he would get one of his workers to kill them and what’s even worse is that if they had a family they would kill the whole family. No one knows the exact number of people he killed but it is said that it could be thousands. Escobar became one of the most powerful men in the world and was also one of the richest! Escobar was very smart with his business, such as he helped out parks, schools, stadiums, churches, and housing for the poor people. And when I say helped out, I mean he spent millions helping these people. They began to see him as someone who was giving back to the community and loved him for that. Pablo Escobar was later found on December 2, 1993 hiding in a home thanks to our US technology. He was gunned down and there was a shootout leaving him shot in the leg and the torso. But that didn’t kill him; he had either committed suicide or got shot in the ear by a Colombian officer.
