The theme in this paragraph is parental expectations. It means when your parents expect something from you or expects you to be what they want you to be. It can either be bad or good news depending on what kids actually like to do. This is what every parents have. Expectations! In every family there is a period of time when parents gets with their children and discuss about what and who they are going to be. In other words, what they are going to do with their life. This could be challenging and most of the time there might be conflict. It’s only natural. You want to do something else while your parents want you to be someone else. There is reason, of course your parents want you to be successful and not ending up on streets but it won’t be something you like. The job you never will want to do. In other hand there is kids who either match up with the expectations or does not really care as long as they make good money. So there could be bunch of reasons. There is also example of parental expectations in book called Fences where we meet the scene when Troy talking to his son “ I done learned my mistake and learned to do what is right by it. You still trying to get something for nothing. Life does not owe you anything, you owe it to yourself”. He say it because he find out that his son is joining Football but Troy does not want him to. According to this quote Troy’s parental expectations for his son to do something with benefit, meaning when he does something there is something he should get in return. Not just any work you like but something beneficial. He says you are doing something and getting nothing because he also have experienced this so now he is teaching him not just catching from sky but experiencing it. I agree with him, also in my opinions that kids have to listen to their parents no matter they like it or not, they are very young to make the lifetime...
