After reading the philosophy of Kodaikanal International School, I have realized that this is the place where a student can get the exposure needed to understand different cultures and communities of the world as it is a place where students as well as teachers of various nationalities and backgrounds learn from each other while living and studying together. The school's policies also keep the moral values of every student in mind and help them lead a better life and become a better person.
I personally think, it is very important for me to have my own individuality no matter where I am, what I do and who I am with and I want to be able to have my own personal identity in the crowd. I am very pleased to know, that KIS encourages it and helps the students become more responsible and accountable for themselves.
I have been in a boarding school earlier, and there were no activities which motivate the students to follow a religion or believe in a higher power above us. I realized that this is a very important issue in KIS and is also one of the most important aims of the school. I believe that it doesn't matter what religion you follow or which god you worship, it is about believing in yourself, and keeping the fact in mind that there is someone watching you take every step of your life, good or bad. Someone who is more capable than anything else in the world. This is what God means to me.
The international community of KIS gives the exposure to students all around the world which helps them learn more about the other cultures. It is a great experience for students as they can get a feeling of being in college with people from everywhere and will be prepared in the later stages of their lives. This helps the students broaden their minds and also helps them become more friendly easily.
