9 from ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’ is an endearing film due to the fact that it’s deplorable in so many different departments and aspects.
Firstly, the actors and actresses have thoroughly delayed reactions to events, while completely over reacting with prolonged screeches and other sounds.
Moving on to the baffling story line, a central factor to why it’s so utterly confusing and awful is the rapid scene changes; you will be looking at one scene and without any help from the narrator it moves on to a completely random irrelevant new scene while not finishing the previous one!
Plus, the characters aren’t consistent, in the sense that there seem to be 15 or more different people in the first few scenes depriving any understanding or bonding between audience and character... This bond is very important in any film and the absence of it could cause the film to suffer in popularity.
Furthermore, the script is replicates the standard of an infant in the sense that they think that a strong dialogue change can be created by adding ‘like’ to the end of a sentence but anybody with a fully functioning brain would be able to see their fail attempt at explaining setting through dialogue. Another script flaw is how the obvious is clearly pointed out!
It’s hard to judge whether this has been made to be a poster-child for appalling films or they’re serious about their work. That thought being risen makes clear how hilariously atrocious it actually is, definitely not worthwhile at all!
