Tell me about yourself?
I feel i am a pleasant person and want to aim high in everything i choose
Why do i want to do a degree?
Because i will gain experiences in my chosen subject, grow contacts and increase my confidence
Why have i chosen this subject?
I feel i have a insight in fashion from my National Diploma and would like to develop this and widen my knowledge into interiors
Why do you want to study in bath?
I love Bath, lovely shops including beautiful independent boutiques, not far from London or home and houses the Fashion museum which would be great for research and inspiration.
Whats your career plans for the future?
I feel a degree will help me decide for sure whether to work in Fashion or Interiors. But i would love to have my own company and open boutiques around the country with my designed products and other independent designers.
What magazines do you read?
I like to read the general Vogue but to compare with other magazines such as I.D and Harpers Bazaar. Both of these feels more original and unique and looking through the pages you feel more engaged and interested. The photographs and editorials may be more quirky and the designers captured may not be the common ones such as Chanel or Gucci. I sometimes pick up ‘the world of interiors’ i love the impressive, luxury wallpapers and fabrics they are so inspiring and i love how they can change the emotion and atmosphere in a room.
Favourite fashion designers? I love Issey Miyake especially his ‘pleats please’ collection i find it very inspirational, how that a simple repeated pleat can become so dominant and create line and shape to the garments. I also find Vivienne Westwood very inspirational and sometimes feel the collections are almost costumes as the details, prints and use of colour are so powerful.
Favourite Interior designers? I find Rachel John very inspirational with her extreme knitting... i like how that something that is typically very delicate is transformed...
