Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: I am avid in going to the gym twice a day and eating healthy throughout the week. Eating healthy and working out help to keep my immune system up, and allow me to do more day-to-day activities.
Social health: I get along with everyone I meet and keep a big circle of friends. Having an approachable demeanor and keeping lines of communication open allows me to stay current on appropriate social behaviors.
Intellectual health: I am currently enrolled in University of Phoenix to get my associates degree, and I avidly study my Professional Development guide. Participating in online classes and actively studying keeps me knowledgeable of relevant information so that I am always productive.
Environmental health: I volunteer to do clean-up projects in my local area, as well as in my neighborhood. Actively volunteering shows my appreciation for my surrounding environment.
Emotional health: I am in a healthy marriage in which my wife and I keep an open line of communication. In my marriage I display both trust and love which are big parts of emotional health.
Spiritual health: Both my wife and I are active in our church community and practice our faith. I am actively subscribing to a way of life which keeps me spiritually steady.
