It's around Valentine's Day, so I thought this article about love is current. After I have read this article right away, a song came to my mind "...all we need is LOVE..." It’s so true! Love keeps human species alive. Many years ago people had no idea that this feeling is actually connected to our brain. Love is pure chemistry. In English "chemistry" means between a man and a woman has a special connection that they cannot control. It seems like our ancestors already knew something in back the time.
We can choose a partner to live together, or even who we want to have children with. Yet we cannot choose who we fall in love with. So how is this love a plan of nature? "Love at first sight", we usually repeat these phrases many-many times. It’s only takes about 90 seconds to 4 minutes, to decide if we really like someone. Our body language and tone of our voice show more about us than what we can actually say. We don’t need a long conversation to feel the attraction for each other. I’m sure that men cannot be more agree with this statement.
On the first stage of falling in love is "LUST”. Testosterone and estrogen hormones are a big drive in our body at this amazing time. This is the time of sexual attraction. In this stage we only see, touch, listen; smell each other and these senses trigger those two hormones.
The second stage is "ATTRACTION”. In this time we are truly love-struck and we can think little else. This time adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin hormones are involved. These hormones are all about happiness, excitement and they have a same effect on our brain as taking cocaine (!) Adrenalin has this charming effect that when we unexpectedly bump into your new love, we start to sweat and our heart races ,our mouth goes dry.
