Starbucks Corporation is an American global coffee company with an Italian-style coffee house chain originating in Seattle, Washington. Starbucks is one of the largest coffee house companies in the world that has expanded rapidly. It first began in 1971 founded by 3 partners: Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker. They were inspired by entrepreneur Alfred Peet to sell high quality coffee beans and equipment. They tried the name from Moby-Dick movie Pequod; however, it was rejected by some of the co-founders. They instead named it after the chief mate on the Pequod, Starbuck. Starbucks headquarters are located in Seattle, Washington.
