The 18th century French philosopher Denis Diderot said, “Only passions, great passions can elevate the soul to great things.” Describe one of your passions and reflect on how it has contributed to your personal growth.

Every passion begins with a thought and every thought begins with a possibility. Passion is not only a physical but also an emotional energy that sustains us. There are many times in the past where I would see myself as an exceptional person with no real desire. I was a person solely driven by the expectation of those who surrounded me. As I grew in maturity, I became more and more passionate about one particular field, law.
It began as a farsighted dream that piqued my interest the more I delved into the field. It eventually became a reason to succeed, to challenge myself, to do something great. I became my passion. I always knew I wanted to help people, even at a young age. The saying goes “Do what you love and love what you do”, but how many of us truly practice this in our everyday life, as much as we preach it? The answer is not many.
Many people just settle for something that pays the bills and puts food on the table. As law became something that I gradually developed a passion for it also taught me a lot. Being a quite headstrong child, law helped me to think rationally when I came to solving my own personal problems or even getting my way. I learned not only how to protect myself but also my friends and family and hopefully one day, someone unable to protect them self.   I remember when I first began to study law I thought it was entirely too much work but the more I read, the more I learned, and the more I appreciated each piece of information-filled paper.
Law has taught me that no one is perfect but just because you are not perfect does not mean that you should not strive for perfection. The law is full of mistakes but it is always being revised and rewritten in an effort to be better, to be a little closer to perfection. That is...
