The affect of the invention of the internet is far beyond than “just for convenience.” The usage of internet everyday certainly affects my physical and mental areas, but the long term affect which is mentally, is more serious. The computer(internet) is the media's tool to manipulate people into thinking and seeing whatever they require us to think and see. Comparing my physical and mental status before the use of internet, and after the use of internet, I will recount a few areas in my life. The main affects I will be opening about are the demolition of characteristics, loss of logical standards and the physical affects.
The first mental symptom I have experienced after the use of internet is the demolition of characteristics. Everyday after school during my 6th year to 9th year I was addicted to the computer. Playing games, chatting on SMS and looking at funny videos. These activities seem harmless, but mentally it did some long term damages that were already foreshadowed. The symptoms I realized is that I became more impatient, hot-tempered, and lazy. If anything or anyone would take too long (according to my standards) I would enter the state of notoriety and sullenly go into my room and cry after my moms lecture of discipline. I got lazy, talked back to my parents, only thought for myself, and continued to let my addiction lead me to wherever it was heading for. During these times, fights with my sister got more frequent. And because of our fights, our parents got involved and it just added gas to the fire. This cycle of torture and despair continued. my character who I was before: polite, patient, and responsible was nowhere of sight but only depravity, wickedness and corruption.
The second mental symptoms was the loss of logical standards. I couldn’t distinguish the difference between bad and evil. I didn’t think stealing from a thrift store was a crime. I didn’t think talking back to my parents was a big deal. Slowly these predicaments started to expand...
