Have you ever eaten so much food that you have a hard time talking? This is what happened to me and my friends this past weekend.
Our block Christmas party was scheduled last Friday afternoon and it was in our friend’s house inside a big subdivision. After our class in Friday, we all packed our things up and went to Aimee’s house. When we arrived, the smell of roasted chicken and grilled barbecue lured us onto the dining table. There was pork barbecue, roasted chicken, palabok, pancit bihon, mac and cheese, and red velvet cupcakes. I particularly liked the red velvet cupcakes since it was delicious and very presentable. We ate and we talked. Not long after, the 6 boxes of family sized pizzas arrive. When our block mates saw these pizzas, everyone was eager to dig in to the scrumptious bacon and pepperoni that scattered above each big slice of pizza. It was an eater’s paradise. After that we played some games and exchanged gifts all while a block mate of ours played a soothing composition on the piano.
It was Saturday, 11am. I woke up to the sound of the television. I had overslept, the day before was pretty tiresome and the party over at our friend’s house had exhausted me. Thankfully, it was a new day. I sat down to watch the television. Not long after, my mom called me to the table to eat lunch. As I sat eating, I was thinking what gift to give to a friend because it was his birthday and we had planned to sleep over at their house. I texted my friend Dennis and we went to the Lucky Chinatown Mall to buy a gift for the birthday boy. After buying a shirt, I went home.
That afternoon at 5pm, it was an hour before the planned birthday party. I was fixing up my stuff for the sleepover because I knew that night would be very tiresome since, by experience, our sleepovers would end at the morning at 5am and we’d sleep until 12 noon.
