2012 RIDGEWOOD TRI-BAND FESTIVAL/
Dear Band Parents:
This is a reminder that the Ridgewood Tri-Band Festival will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2012. The Giles-Leigh Concert Band members need to report to Ridgewood by 8:00 AM. Rehearsals will start promptly at 8:30 AM. Please enter the building at the far North entrance off of the long East parking lot and proceed to the gym. The students will need to wear their regular concert black slacks and dress shoes, but please wear a solid white shirt of your choice. Please do not wear your uniform shirt. Also, your child will need to bring his/her own metal folding music stand from home to use for the entire fest on Saturday as well as the tour on Monday. School stands will NOT be provided. If you have a stand bag, use it, or simply rubber band the two sections of the stand together and label it with your name and school and bring it with you.
Every year, in conjunction with the previous Saturday Tri-Band Fest clinic and concert, the Giles-Leigh Concert Band, Union Ridge School Band, and Ridgewood Band members go on a really fun tour to the participating elementary schools to perform. The tour will take up the entire school day and is sure to be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for your child. The tour will also make a lunch stop at Russell’s Restaurant in River Grove. The average cost of lunch there is around $12.00. Your child will need to bring along money for lunch that day.
For the tour, please have your child wear black and white as well as black dress shoes as he/she did on Saturday. Again, your child will need to bring his/her own metal folding music stand from home to use for the entire tour on Monday. School stands will NOT be provided.
