In Cold Blood is a mystery written by Truman Capote. The story begging’s with Perry brutally murdering a family. Dick and Perry are the main characters that travel around to not get caught by the police, but they eventually get caught. They confessed to the murder and were sent to jail. This book shows how mankind has a role model and how humans lie to get what they want.
Since mankind excited, humans have always had a role model. “His only peace of mind will be when Perry goes to him for forgiveness” (Capote 107). Everyone has someone who they look up to when in trouble or just for their life purpose. “A belief in God and the rituals surrounding that belief…” (104). People who belief in a God have a role model because they want to be like him. That is what a role model is, but people are not perfect and lie.
People lie because we are humans and that what we do. “Perry described a murder, telling how simply “for the hell of it,” he had killed a colored man” (54). Later on in the book they say that this was a lie that Perry told dick to be his friend. This shows how a cruel lie can change a man life for the worse. At the end of the book Perry tries to say that dick shot the family that he was just watching. People lie to get away from the bad things they did, but hiding a lie with another lie does not go well for anyone.
From this book I learned that lying is not the best option. That when choosing a role model to choose careful. That when we lie it is always going to affect someone, but lying is part of being human and humans are not perfect.
