If there was such a thing as time travel, and we humans could go back in time to change things that happened, one of the events that would surely change would be the Vietnam War. From the amount of casualties, estimated somewhere between 1 912 846 – 3 992 846, and with over 2 million wounded, the Vietnam War was disastrous for everything and everyone involved. The war was also the beginning of the age that included the use of some of the deadliest pesticides known to man, one of which was Agent Orange. The pesticide was mainly used to kill crops and cattle over a ten year span (1961-1971). Agent Orange also had a huge effect on the people as there were over 400 000 killed or wounded, and over 500 000 children were born with birth defects. Agent Orange also had a life lasting effect on any human that had come in contact with it. One fact that has been well documented over the years was that any soldier that came in contact with Agent Orange had a very high possibility of getting Parkinson’s disease or PTSD. Both of these diseases are extremely deadly and vile, and both give a much higher chance of dying. PTSD is usually caused by some sort of event that happened or just shell-shock from the war itself. This brings us to Charles in The Time in Between who developed PTSD because he killed a child. War is the main reason why PTSD exists today. The effects of war on people are many, but PTSD, destroyed relationships and being left stranded with nothing at all, happen because of the war.

Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, (also known as PTSD), is a disease that one in eight soldiers' contracts as a result of some event that happened during the war or from the war itself. PTSD itself has many different symptoms that vary from not being able to remember simple everyday tasks to becoming heavily reliant to painkillers, alcohol, and other illegal narcotics.
