The reviewed book The Travels Of A T-Shirt In The Global Economy was first written in 2005 and revised in 2009 by Pietra Rivoli, a contemporary economist. Rivoli holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida, followed by the receiving of the PhD in Finance and International Economics in 1983. Since then, she has worked for and taught in undergraduate, graduate and executive programmes at the McDonough School of Business of Georgetown University, Washington D.C, being the Deputy Dean recently. In addition, the author is a member of the University's Licensing Oversight Committee and the University's Committee for Social Responsibility in Investing has influenced the Vital Voices partnership, educating women in developing countries. Her research interests lie in business ethics and social justice in international business in general and specifically in China, on which she has published various articles in Business Ethics Quarterly and Journal of Money and Credit Banking. Rivoli was granted public and international attention for the reviewed book by popular media as well as by academicians and the book has been translated into 14 languages. In 2006, the Aspen Institute awarded her the Faculty Pioneer Award for integrating social and environmental topics into the MBA curriculum. Furthermore, the author has received teaching awards at undergraduate and graduate levels. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two children.1
