Just sitting having a glass of wine, with your friend, trying to get a little guideance, and understanding on life and relationships with men.
I would recommend everyone to see the romantic comedy-drama movie Waiting To Exhale, based on the novel written by Terry McMillian. This movie was directed by actor Forest Whitaker, with the cast of Whiney Houston, Angela Bassett, Lorreta Devine, and Lela Rochon. Waiting To Exhale has a great story line. The movie is about four independent women who doesen't seem to have good luck in love and relationships. In the black community, Waiting To Exhale doesn't have the basic sterotypical roles, such as drugs, gang banging, teenage mothers, drug addicts, violence, etc. in African-Amercan films. This movie was positive and it paved the way for other non violent, films in the black society (Four Colored Girls, The Wood, Love and Basketball,etc.). In my opion this movie didn't have any upsetting moments.
Waiting To Exhale has an oustanding cast. Each character has her own story to tell. Savannah played by Whitney Houston, the TV publisher, relocates to another state to start a new job and love affair with a married man. She debates on whether she wants to keep it going or stop it. Bernadine played by Angela Bassett, who was married for eleven years with two children, husband divorced her for a white lady has a difficult time dealing with her problems. Robin played by Lela Rochon, is an excutive at a firm and is also seeing a married man and dating two other men. Gloria played by Lorreta Devine, owns her own hair salon. she's divorced and her exhusband drops by and tell her why, I will not tell what it is.
I thought the acting was performed great to its ability. I thought Angela Bassett played an oustanding role as a bitter, angy and upsett black woman. One of my favorite scenes of Angela Bassett's role was when she marches into her her exhusbands firm and slaps the lady he had left her for. Over all, I...
