Bloodshed that has been occurring in Syria is caused by the president, Bashar al-Assad.   This is targeted to the citizens who support the Syrian Uprising. The civil war is an ongoing internal conflict in Syria. It is a part of the wider Arab Spring, a wave of upheaval throughout the Arab World. This public demonstration across Syria began in January 2011 and developed into a nationwide uprising ever since. Protesters and people of support have been demanding the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, and attempt to overthrow of his government. In the spring of 2011 President Bashar al-Assad orders his Syrian Army to begin to attack the people who were in support of the Syrian Uprising. This was the beginning of a brutal vicious onslaught by the Syrian government to their own people. Soldiers were simply commanded to torture and kill the protestors of anti-government group. Since the spring of 2011 President Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the death of thousands of Syrian People and the displacement of many more. Because of the extreme violent actions President Bashar al-Assad use to silence the protest in Syria this is becoming an international conflict. To escape the violence the people of Syria are relocating to neighboring countries of are Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon. Since this is occurring this brings the involvement of the outside countries and their governments. The United Nations and United State was the main outside parties to get involved with this political massacre. President Obama signed an Executive order putting into effect sanctions against Bashar al-Assad in an effort to pressure his government to end its use of violence against its people and begin transitioning to a democratic system that protects the rights of the Syrian people. The sanctions effectively freeze any of the Syrian President's assets either in the United States property or within U.S. jurisdiction.
